Rosette (Struvor) stitch
I first learned Rosette stitch by following the below Nordic Needle example then I switched to using buttonhole worked bars instead of wrapped bars.
Using buttonhole stitch for bar weaving:
When I work the Rosette (Struvor) stitch I want the pulled weaved bars to form a nice symmetric Y-branch within the four corners. To accomplish this, instead of a simple wrapped bar I do 8 weaved bars of buttonhole stitches. When bar weaving is completed, add the Rosette stitches (loops).
- Come thread up in a corner (neon green dot).
- Take the thread through loop of a buttonhole weaved bar by counting up (from the bottom) 3 loops (see white arrows).
- Back down at the corner (neon green dot) and then loop through other buttonhole weaved bar.
- Pull loops to form two buttonhole worked bars into a Y-shape.
