Needle Keeper

For organizing needles I use the Embroiderers’ Guild of America (EGA) Valley Quail Chapter Needle Index Book (purchased from their website).
 

It has identification drawings of various needles (and sizes) and right across from, let’s say the tapestry needle page, there is a soft felt fabric page for inserting your needles.
 

The photo below shows a page of the Needle Index Book and the needle (lying on the left-hand page) that I used for a recent project. Note that the lower the number (gauge), the larger the needle, i.e., a size 24 needle is more slender than a size 14 needle.
